A WS2812 LED strip, also known as a NeoPixel strip, is a type of pixel LED strip that uses the WS2812B integrated circuit to control each individual LED. These strips are commonly used in a wide range of lighting applications, including stage lighting, architectural lighting, and DIY lighting projects.

The WS2812 is another popular LED driver chip that is commonly used in addressable RGB LED strips, similar to the WS2811. A pixel LED strip using WS2812 chips is also an addressable RGB LED strip, where each LED has an integrated driver chip that allows for individual control of each LED.

Like the WS2811, the WS2812-based pixel LED strip can create a wide range of dynamic lighting effects, including color patterns, chasing effects, and animations. It also requires a compatible controller and power supply to operate correctly.

SK6812 V/S WS2812

SK6812 and WS2812B LEDs are driven by 5V, the brightness and color of the SK6812 LED are not affected by voltage drops like the WS2812B. This does not mean that the SK6812 has no voltage drop, but it has been optimized for this problem.

WS2812B is an upgraded version of WS2812, then SK6812 can be said to be an upgraded version of WS2812B.

    These are not geniune ws2812b, they are clones. now the difference between the geniune and the clone isnt much, for starters both work the same and are cross compatible but the hue and the color of these (clones) is poor, the white color has a bluish tint to it (even after using color correction), second there are slightly larger than the geniune ones i.e they are a bit taller, lastly the life span of these would be lower than the geniune ones, as they use cheaper materials (bonding wires inside LED’s are made from copper and not gold) but then again what can you expect for the price.
